A good field position can under pressure a good batsman. Place fielders at catching position to make pressure on batsmen. A right field set can make batsman out, also it help to control runs scored by defending team. You can place attacking field to create pressure on batsmen for e.g. silly point, gully, silly mid-on, leg slip, etc. Place defensive field to save runs in the match. Defensive field for e.g. long on, long off, deep cover, deep square leg, etc. There is a huge difference in attacking field and defensive field. Attacking field is used to prevent runs.
